Major train regulation on Kottayam route
KOCHI: Many trains will be cancelled or diverted on May 7, 8 and 14 to take yard work at Vaikom Road station as part of track-doubling work and final work on a subway.
Passenger trains in Ernakulam-Alappuzha-Kayamkulam section (56381/56382) scheduled to leave Ernakulam at 10 am and Kayamkulam at 1 pm; passenger trains between Ernakulam-Kottayam-Kayamkulam section (56387/56388) scheduled to leave Ernakulam Junction at 11.30 am and Kayamkulam Junction at 4.25 pm; Alappuzha-Kayamkulam passenger (56377) leaving Alappuzha at 7.05 am and Kayamkulam-Ernakulam Passenger (56380) via Alappuzha leaving Kayamkulam at 8.35 am have been cancelled.

The other trains cancelled are Kollam-Ernakulam-Kollam MEMU service (66302/66303) via Alappuzha leaving Kollam at 8.50 am and Ernakulam at 12.20 pm; Ernakulam-Kollam-Ernakulam MEMU (66300/66301) via Kottayam leaving Kollam at 7.40 am Ernakulam at 2.40 pm and MEMU service between Ernakulam-Kottayam-Kollam section (66307/66308) scheduled to leave Ernakulam at 5.25 am and Kollam at 11.10 am.
Kollam-Kottayam-Kollam Passenger (56394/56393) leaving Kollam 8.35 am and Kottayam at 5.45 pm will remain cancelled on May 14 only.
Passenger trains between Punalur and Guruvayur (56365/56366) will remain partially cancelled between Edappally and Punalur stations.
Diversion via Alappuzha
Nagercoil-Mangaluru Parasuram Express (16650); Thiruvananthapuram-Hyderabad Sabari Express (17229); New Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram Kerala Express (12626); Kannur-Thiruvananthapuram Central Jan Shatabdi Express (12081) on May 7 and Kochuveli- Lokmanya Tilak Garib Rath Express (12202) on May 8 will be diverted via Alappuzha.

Kanyakumari-Mumbai CST Express (16382) will be diverted Via Alappuzha on May 14 only. Jan Shatabdi Express will have special stoppage at Ernakulam Junction, Cherthala and Alappuzha stations and all other diverted will stop at Ambalappuzha and Harippad stations also.
Kanyakumari-Mumbai CST Express (16382) will be detained at Ettumanoor for 20 minutes on May 7 and 8.
Mangaluru- Nagercoil Parasuram Express (16649) will be detained at Piravam Road for 25 minutes and Thiruvananthapuram-New Delhi Kerala Express (12625) will be detained at Kottayam or Ettumanoor for 40 minutes on May 14.
