Weyerhaeuser Co Earnings Rise 52% In Q1

Weyerhaeuser Co (WY) announced a profit for its first quarter that climbed from last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $150 million, or $0.24 per share. This was higher than $99 million, or $0.19 per share, in last year's first quarter.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 6.4% to $1.84 billion. This was up from $1.73 billion last year.
