Roger Gracie all praises for opponent before title fight, but promises to showcase his best form yet

SINGAPORE — Roger Gracie of the world renowned Gracie fighting family of Brazil has nothing but praises for Michal Paternak ahead of their ONE light heavyweight title fight on Friday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.

The 32-year-old Paternak is a Polish Jiu Jitsu black belt like his counterpart. Gracie realizes that his foe came to Singapore to win, yet he's confident that the world is about to see his finest form yet.

"I know he came for the victory. My opponent is dangerous, he's pretty good but you can be sure that this is the best I've ever been and I'll be giving my 110% inside that cage," says Gracie (7-2).

"I don't feel that he's scared of my ground game, specially that this is not a grappling match, this is an MMA fight — we have punches involved and we have to deal with that."

As both fighters vie for the inaugural ONE light heavyweight title, Gracie further cites that there's no reason to believe that Paternak is not a world class athlete.

"I'm sure he's a top fighter. He has 11 fights with 11 wins and I think that alone makes him more dangerous than the fact that he knows how to fight on the ground." — APG, GMA News
