Click photos of leakages, says mayor

Indore: Rattled by leakages in water distribution lines and feeder lines, mayor Malini Gaud has issued directions to the officials of the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) that every leakage should be promptly repaired and a record be maintained as to how much of the water has been lost due to the leakages. "Sub engineers will be given Rs 3 lakh in a month as provisional budget for the repairing of leakages.A budget of Rs 57 lakhs has been issued, which would be distributed among all the 19 zones of the civic body," the mayor said.
Balram Verma, head of IMC's water works division, said that in addition to the fund allotted to the sub engineers, the revenue division has been requested to provide Rs 10 lakhs to executive engineers . Under the new directions, engineers would also have to click photographs of both the leakage as well as of the repair work.
