Booklet on Biju's life in schools soon

Bhubaneswar: School and mass education minister Debi Prasad Mishra on Thursday said the government was in the process of preparing a special booklet on the life and achievement of iconic leader Biju Patnaik, to be distributed among school students in the state. Mishra said the stories will not be part of any curriculum. He was replying to a query of BJD MLA Byomokesh Ray at the Assembly.
The school and mass education department has constituted a panel to prepare the special booklet. The book will comprise short stories and photographs of some of the marvellous works Biju Patnaik had done during his student days. The distribution of the books will form the part of the birth centenary celebration of the legendary leader, which began on March 5.
On May 1, 1932, Biju Patnaik along with two of his friends started a journey from Cuttack to Peshawar (currently in Pakistan). To commemorate the event, the ruling party had conducted cycle rallies across the state.
