Padmapriya to make a comeback with a Hindi-Bengali film
Actress Padmapriya, who has been on a break from films for her studies, is getting back to artistic turf again. The multiple State Award winner has grabbed a Hindi ' Bengali bilingual movie titled The Orphan, which has actor Naseeruddin Shah's son Vivaan Shah in the lead. The movie is directed by Saat Khoon Maaf fame Ranjan Palit, a three-time National Award winner.
'The Orphan is a biographical movie about the director's family.
I can't speak much about my character, but I play the first love and first wife of the hero, played by Vivaan. Interestingly, the real-life person based on whom my role is put together, will also be part of the film,' says the actress. The movie is scripted by the director himself, and the cast also consists of Malayali actress Malavika Mohan and Kollywood artiste Kamalini Mukherjee.
Padmapriya, who has starred in Bengali films like Aparajita Tumi by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, doesn't find the language a hurdle at all. 'In fact I had dubbed for my Bengali film and I'm at ease with Hindi as well,' says the Iyobinte Pushthakam actress. The film will be shot in Sunderbans and Goa this month.
