Jimmy Kimmel has convinced countless celebrities to read insults about themselves on camera, but in honor of Mother’s Day, he spun Mean Tweets into something a little more wholesome: Mom Texts. To honor the women who not only gave us life but also “leave us long voicemails and send us nonsensical text messages,” Kimmel had staffers read messages from their own mothers, and the results are as hilarious as they are relatable. (Does everyone’s mom use voice texting?)
From long, rambling messages about everyday activities to TMI colonoscopy texts to explorations in new technology (“I hi honey I’m using I’m using the microphone”), the segment is a good way to make you appreciate all the wonderfully weird maternal messages you probably have in your own inbox.
