BJP MLA protests against its own party rule in Surat city

SURAT: BJP MLA from Varacha and former Deputy Mayor of Surat city, Kumar Kanani sat for the whole day in front of Varacha zone officials demanding immediate basic facilities for the residents of 10 societies of his area who have already paid up Incremental charges (IC) to Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) . He also demanded immediate recovery from those who have not paid up IC charges till now.
Talking to TOI Kanani said, “He would continue to sit in front of officials every day from morning 10 to 6 demanding basic facilities of drainage, water, street light and water.He would start that from Thursday morning.”
According to him, there are 10 societies where some have paid IC money and others have not. However, Varacha zone officials have insisted that till every one from the society pays up they would not provide basic amenities to anyone.
The issue of IC money is major issue for societies like Janta Apartment, Matruchaya society, Prabhunagar society, Snehmilan society among others.
“You can’t deny amenities to those who have paid up IC at the cost of others who have not paid the money.” Said Kanani. He also said that SMC has to recover Rs 24 lakh of IC from some residents of these societies and they must recover this money fast.
