Twitter's Periscope just got its biggest feature that would let you save any broadcasts beyond 24 hours.
Twitter’s Periscope has lately been trying to undercut juggernauts in the same field as Snapchat, Facebook's Live service and others. The service just got its biggest feature that would let you save any broadcasts beyond 24 hours.
Periscope CEO Kayvon Beykpour via the official Periscope TV account made the “greater than 24 hours” announcement revealing the permanent save feature. Beykpour said that the Periscope team is actively working on it, which for now is in ‘public beta’ and will see a broader roll out in the coming days.
He did not announce the exact time frame as to when the feature will be rolling out to the rest of the Periscope users.

The feature will be a part of the "holistic solution", according to Beykpour, using which you would be able to control how long your broadcasts stay online.
All you need to do is to add #save in the title of the Periscope video you intend to save forever. The broadcast will appear in the user’s profile and anywhere else depending on its reach. Links shared externally such as on Twitter will also stay active permanently. To use the feature, you would have to join the Periscope Beta programme.

The Periscope CEO also took the opportunity to announce that the team is not only working on the 'permanent save' feature, but is also developing tools to let users keep the broadcasts for over 24 hours but not forever. In addition, Beykpour also bid farewell to Katch, a third-party app that allowed users to keep their Periscope broadcasts for longer than 24 hours.
