Marshall CEO spearheads BEN industry leader challenge

Skydive_620Marshall Motors chief executive Daksh Gupta is to take part in a 10,000 feet skydive in June.

The skydive is part of a new BEN annual fundraising challenge for senior executives in the automotive industry.

The Industry Leader Challenge sees one individual each year take on a personal fundraising target for industry charity.

Once completed they will pass the ‘baton’ onto a newly nominated individual who will aim raise more money than the previous challenger.

Gupta, a member of the BEN board of trustees, will perform the skydive on 22 June at 9am at the Hinton Skydive Centre in Brackley, Northants.

Gupta said:  “I’ve always been scared of heights, so this is the ultimate challenge for me. I’m looking forward to my skydive, but this will push me to my limits and I’m petrified.

“My goal is to raise six figures for BEN. It’s ambitious, but with the help of industry manufacturers, suppliers and friends, I know I can do it.

“So far people have been very generous, with a supplier already committing £10,000, and a manufacturer and finance company committing £5,000 each. We’re well on the way.”

David Main, BEN’s CEO, said: “We are very grateful to Daksh for being the first to take on such a formidable challenge.

“It’s certainly not for the faint hearted. All the funds raised from this and future challenges will enable BEN to reach more people in the industry and continue providing practical support, advice and guidance to ensure long-lasting, positive outcomes.”

“In 2015/16 we responded to 81% more enquiries to our helpline, compared to 2014/15 – funds raised by the Industry Leader Challenge will enable us to expand our reach and range of support services even further this year.”

BEN has already identified the next leader who will take on a challenge in 2017, with the name to be revealed at the annual BEN Ball in December.
