As OnePlus 3’s launch is just around the corner, leaked photos and details on specs have been surfacing for several months now. The latest batch regards the flagship’s battery and charging capabilities.

According to MyDrivers, OnePlus 3 will come with an increased battery capacity from 3300mAh to 3500mAh. This might indicate that the smartphone will either be thicker, heavier or feature a larger display, compared to its predecessor, OnePlus 2.

It’s expected to come with a Full HD Super AMOLED display, which isn’t quite satisfactory considering that other flagships, like Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, have Quad HD 2560x1440 displays. Still, take into consideration that OnePlus units are overall powerful devices that play in another league than S7.

OnePlus 3 is set to integrate fast charging capabilities delivered by Chinese phone-maker Oppo. Its Super VOOC is capable of delivering a full charge in just 15 minutes. The phone will support charging at 5V 4A, which means a maximum wattage of 20W. This should please power users and those who enjoy getting the most out of their smartphones without being glued to an outlet or carrying portable batteries around.

Snapdragon 820 processor and 4 GB of RAM

Aside from charging capabilities, OnePlus 3 is set to pack relatively powerful components under its case. It will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, a definite improvement from OnePlus 2’s Snapdragon 810 CPU. It will also come with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, about the same as its predecessor. The quad-core CPU and the Adreno 530 GPU will also boost the phone’s performance.

The 16-megapixel rear camera should make for satisfactory pictures and capabilities for recording video. It will also have an 8MP front camera and the NFC could be featured after being absent from the OnePlus 2.

Initial rumors stated that the OnePlus 3 would have front-facing speakers, but missing fingerprint sensors, which means that the manufacturer might have considered other options for user authentication.

At the beginning of this year, OnePlus' co-founder Carl Pei stated in an interview that the OnePlus 3 will be launched most likely at the end of the second quarter. Therefore, we can expect OnePlus 3 to be unveiled no later than the end of June.
