SP report: No record of TMC-cops meet
Kolkata/East Midnapore: A day after CPM politburo member Surjya Kanta Mishra complained of complicity between Trinamool candidate Subhendu Adhikari and a section of the East Midnapore police, district SP Alok Rajoria sent a report to EC denying the charges. Following this, the district Trinamool leadership has demanded action against Mishra for making false allegations.

"We carried out a probe and found no records of a meeting at Panskura Banamali College on that date. We have sent our report to EC," Rajoria said.
Additional chief electoral officer Dibyendu Sarkar said, "There is no substance in CPM's allegation."
When asked whether the commission will act against this false allegation, Sarkar added, "Most of the complaints we receive are incorrect. In that case, we will have to take action against all of them. We are here to conduct polls and not find faults."
The report put CPM on the defensive. Speaking to TOI, CPM district secretary Niranjan Shee said, "The meeting didn't take place at Banamali College. It took place at a private BEd college in Panskura, which belonged to Trinamool leader Anisur Rahman. We told Mishra about it, but he thought we were speaking about Banamali College. There was confusion about the venue, but the meeting did take place."
Anisur Rahman was quick to react: "If Mishra can prove there was a meeting in my college, I will sell my institute. But he will have to promise that if he fails, he will have to leave politics forever." Adhikari said, "Let the polls be over, then I shall do whatever needed. In East Midnapore, we've left CPM red-faced. They should keep quiet now."
On the other hand, a BJP delegation met CEO Sunil Gupta on Wednesday to demand that Adhikari's phone calls should to tracked to find out whether he had any conversation with police officers.
