Ahmedabad: Bhavesh Patel, 38, a resident of Rachna Society in Satellite and co-owner of Kanak Groundnut Oil, committed suicide at his office near Pushkar Hills in Odhav on Tuesday evening.
Police sources said they recovered two suicide notes from the office. "One is addressed to his wife, asking her to take care of his children and in the other he names three persons - Gautam, Prakash and Punit - for not repaying Rs 35 lakh that he was owed," said Inspector S M Patel of Odhav police station.
Patel is survived his wife Sheetal and two children - Hemandri, 14 and Harmesh 5 - said a police source.
Patel went to his office at Odhav on Tuesday afternoon and told his employee Prakash Jain to go to collect the outstanding amount from the customers.
"When Patel did not respond to Jain's calls, he returned to the office, only to see Patel hanging from a ceiling fan there. Jain immediately called Patel's brother Vijay, who rushed to Odhav and informed us about the incident," added Inspector Patel.
"We have registered a case of abetment to suicide against the three and are probing the case. Patel also owned Mahadev Steel Industries at Kerala GIDC near Bavla in Ahmedabad district," said a cop.
