Noida: More than a year after fraudster Nitin Rathi allegedly orchestrated a multi-crore-rupee con job and duped innocent investors, the Noida Authority has finally filed a chargesheet in the case on Wednesday. Rathi has been directed to file his reply to the chargesheet within 30 days or face further action. Currently, Rathi is out on bail but continues to be suspended.
According to officials, Rathi, an assistant in the sports department of the Noida Authority, allegedly hoodwinked 47 people into buying fake plots and generating fake documents to make the deals look original.
"We have recorded affidavits of 47 people in the case," said N.P Jaiswal, deputy general manager, Housing, Noida Authority, who was conducting the investigation in the case.
Jaiswal said that their examination of victims since the matter came to light in January 2015 has revealed that Rathi had duped investors of about Rs 2.70 crores.
