RMC rolls out four new projects for Ranchi

A hi-tech park, a transport nagar which will funtion as a truck depot, a modern bus stand and interstate bus terminus (ISBT) in the city are some of the new projects floated by the Ranchi Municipal Corportion (RMC) recently.

Ranchi: A hi-tech park, a transport nagar which will function as a truck depot, a modern bus stand and interstate bus terminus (ISBT) in the city are some of the new projects floated by the Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) recently.
A meeting was held on Wednesday to discuss the plans of these four projects.
Municipal commissioner Prashant Kumar said, "The meeting was to discuss the detailed plan of thefour projects.
We intend to develop the Birsa Munda Smriti Park at Jail Road into a hi-tech park, modernize the state bus stand on the Railway Station Road and set up a transport nagar apart from a new ISBT." While half of the construction of Birsa Munda Smriti Park has been done by the forest department, the remaining has to be undertaken by RMC.
Infrastructure Development Corporation (Karnataka) Ltd. (IDeCK), the agency which is preparing the blueprint of the four projects, put up a presentation that was liked by all. Explaining the DPR of the park, Supratik Sarkar of IDeCK said: "The park will have an electronic card generator in which people can pay a particular amount of money to avail themselves of the car. This in turn can be swiped at various points to avail of the facilities. After the trip through the park is over, the card has to be submitted at the exit point and the remaining balance will be refunded. "The park will have many attractions right from a light-and-sound show on the life of Birsa Munda to a a unique sculpture, apart from a uranium and mineral museum. "We will be constructing a 60mt high watchtower, which will have a revolving restaurant. There will also be a banquet hall. The museum will showcase the history and technology of mining," Sarkar said.
This transport nagar will have administrative building, dormitory for truck drivers, dhaba, truck washing facility and a warehouse where the truck drivers can store the goods they are carrying.
This apart there are plans to modernise the government bus stand at railway station road. The new plan suggest construction of a mall, food court, a five star hotel as well as a public library at the bus stand. Also, there is a plan to start ISBT in Sukurhutu area of Kanke.
