True to form, the Broadway cast of SCHOOL OF ROCK celebrated like rock stars when arriving for Tuesday night's performance after picking up four of this season's Tony Award nominations.

Along with a nod as Best Musical, individual honors were also collected for Julian Fellowes' book, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Glenn Slater's score and Alex Brightman's leading performance as a down and out musician who takes a teaching gig at a private school and shows his young charges how to express themselves through music.

It's a team effort, but Brightman didn't seem to mind hearing his young cast mates chanting, "Alex! Alex!" in his honor.

SCHOOL OF ROCK - THE MUSICAL opened on Broadway to rave reviews on Sunday, December 6, 2015. Based on the smash hit 2003 film of the same title, School of Rock - THE MUSICAL features music from the movie, as well as an original score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Glenn Slater, with a book by Julian Fellowes and direction by Laurence Connor.

SCHOOL OF ROCK - THE MUSICAL is produced on Broadway by Andrew Lloyd Webber for The Really Useful Group, Warner Music Group & Access Industries, The Shubert Organization, and The Nederlander Organization. Nina Lannan and Madeleine Lloyd Webber serve as Executive Producers.
