USAIDs’ Aeschliman calls on Rishad

Reed Aeschliman, Acting Mission Director of USAID/Sri Lanka and Maldives, and Paul Richardson, Director of the Office of Economic Growth, paid a courtesy call on Minister Rishad Bathiudeen and his senior staff from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce on 20 April.  The purpose of the courtesy call was to learn more about the Ministry’s plan for strengthening Micro and Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and creating employment in Sri Lanka.  USAID also briefed the Ministry on their plans for promoting economic opportunity in Sri Lanka, and agreed to look for ways to coordinate efforts in the future.
