Never say It's my fault'

You may have felt guilty for not helping an accident victim. Dont feel so, help them instead, says Ente Pizha.

Ever got knocked down on the road and never had a helping hand? Ente Pizha, a short film by Praveen J Samuel, is about not forgetting to lend a helping hand.

Says Praveen, “The film is a tribute to my best friend Vineeth Marar, who passed away recently in a road accident near Lulu Mall. If someone had taken him to hospital on time, his life could have been saved. I don’t want anyone else to lose their lives on the road just because people don't react.”

The film introduces a fantasy element to show how one tries to convince themselves that nothing bad has happened. “The film shows how a human mind works to justify our mistakes and convince ourselves that nothing has happened,” further says Praveen, who has added scenes which depict that guilt follows us wherever we go.

Praveen, who himself had met with an accident and was bedridden for two years, says he was saved just because people rushed him to the hospital.

A software engineer by profession, Praveen is an experienced film maker; he was the man behind the camera for some of noted short films Zahir and AIN. The film’s crew has many noted names. Music composer Sejo John’s tunes have added to the depth of the movie. Majush James, the DI- colorist, has worked in Dhoom 3. The film was produced by nine Wipro employees.

Launching the short film, Ernakulam District Collector M G Rajamanickam said that the film was a great inspiration and also served as a warning to the people. The short film got so much attention that the traffic police are planning to screen it to driving license applicants. Ente Pizha has also been nominated for the IFFK and the Chennai Film Festival.
