Wells Fargo Championship Marketplace: Rose worth the price

After five painful days in New Orleans, the Zurich Classic is in the books after a number of weather delays filled with heavy thunderstorms and rain. Fortunately, the event was able to get in 54 holes to become official after three rounds of play with an unlikely champion, Brian Stuard. He found a way to survive through the last round and then defeat Jamie Lovemark and Byeong-Hun An after sticking his approach shot about two feet from the pin on the second playoff hole to collect the winning birdie. It was a difficult loss for Lovemark, who led most of the way down the stretch, but could not manage a birdie on the final Par 5, 18th hole to secure the win in regulation.

This week, we move on to Charlotte, North Carolina, where we will be able to put away our umbrellas and enjoy the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow. Last season, Rory McIlroy jumped out in front early and then ran away from the field in the final round to collect his second career win at this event. As a result of his success here, McIlroy's salary is far above the other elite golfers this week creating an interesting decision for owners. At $12,800, he is $1,900 more expensive than the next-highest priced player available in Rickie Fowler, who is $10,900 this week.
