Model Mothers And The Lookalike Daughters Who Strut In Their Footsteps

It's all in the genes.

Let's face it, working in the fashion industry has a great deal to do with having the look. Many of the original supermodels, like Cindy Crawford and Christie Brinkley, have longstanding careers thanks to their signature features. But what exactly does this mean for the daughters who decide to follow in their high-heeled footsteps?

Scroll down for 15 model mothers and the daughters who have managed to make names for themselves.

Jerry Hall & Georgia May Jagger

Hall is widely known for her long-term relationship with rocker Mick Jagger, but the Texas-born beauty had established a lucrative modeling career by the time the pair started dating. She's covered dozens of magazines, including Vogue, Playboy, Elle and Cosmopolitan. Now married to media mogul Rupert Murdoch, Hall continues to pose for fashion publications today.

As the youngest daughter of Hall and Jagger, Georgia May has carved her own lane in the fashion industry even though she stands at just 5'7". Her list of credits continues to stack up, as she's modeled for Miu Miu, Chanel, Hudson Jeans and Rimmel London.
Cindy Crawford & Kaia Jordan Gerber

You can't discuss supermodels without namedropping Crawford. With her thick, brunette hair, signature mole and megawatt smile, the 50-year-old has remained a permanent fixture on magazine covers and on runways for the past 30 years.

With such a great role model, it's no surprise that Gerber's modeling career is taking off fast. She's the star of Chrome Hearts' Spring/Summer 2016 campaign and has posed for Vogue Italia. MAJOR.
Lucie De La Falaise & Ella Richards

De La Falaise's life was very different from other teenagers. At the tender age of 16, fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent tapped her to be the closing bride in his couture show. Talk about an epic mic drop. Her career flourished, posing for American and Italian Vogue. Not to mention, she's BFFs with supermodel Kate Moss.

De La Falaise's offspring Ella Richards signed to Storm Model Management and dominated Fall 2015 runways, including Prada, Valentino, Calvin Klein, Fendi and Topshop. She's also the face of Burberry.
Pat Cleveland & Anna Cleveland

Long before Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks, Chanel Iman and Jourdan Dunn, there was the Pat Cleveland. She broke barriers for models of color as her career took off in the '70s as a Halston muse. You can still see her strut on the runways today with her dramatic walk.

With a model-mother who remains in the spotlight, Anna has proven she isn't just her shadow. Represented by Next Model Management, she has done editorials for CR Fashion Book, Dazed, Vogue Italy, Harper's Bazaar UK and walked in runway shows from New York to London to Paris.
Isabella Rossellini & Elettra Wiedemann

Rossellini started her modeling career in her late 20s. Photographed by prominent fashion photographers such as Bruce Weber, Steven Meisel, Helmut Newton and Annie Leibovitz, the Italian-born stunner has appeared on countless magazine covers, posed for Madonna's controversial "Sex" book and recently returned to Lancôme as the brand's ambassador.

Discovered by Weber, Wiedemann booked gigs as a fashion model for over a decade. Like her mother, she is a Lancôme spokesmodel and has fronted the cosmetics company's various makeup and skincare ads.
Beverly Johnson & Anansa Sims

Johnson made history when she became the first African-American woman to grace the cover of American Vogue. She's since appeared on hundreds of other magazine covers, written books, dabbled in acting and created a line of hair extensions and wigs.

Johnson was initially against the idea of Anansa becoming a model. The pressures to have a certain look led her daughter to live an unhealthy lifestyle. Now a successful plus-size model, the 37-year-old has scored campaigns for Vassarette, Forever 21 and Lane Bryant.
Kim Basinger & Ireland Baldwin

Oscar-winning actress Basinger actually started out in the modeling world as the face of beauty brands like Maybelline and Breck shampoo.

Fast forward 30 years later and her daughter Ireland Baldwin has inked her "It" girl status with fashion spreads in W, Elle and DuJour magazine.
Yolanda Hadid, Gigi Hadid & Bella Hadid

Discovered by model-agent icon Eileen Ford, Yolanda Hadid signed with Ford Models and flaunted her good looks in plenty of swimsuit shoots and more for 15 years.

Her beautiful daughters Gigi and Bella clearly have learned a thing or two from their mama on working the camera. Starting out as the face of Guess, Gigi has gone on to model for Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and Victoria's Secret. Bella hasn't done too shabby either, racking up credits that include walking on the runways of Diane von Furstenberg, Jeremy Scott and Tommy Hilfiger. She was recently named "Model of the Year" at the Daily Front Row's Fashion Los Angeles Awards.
Christie Brinkley & Sailor Lee Brinkley-Cook

Brinkley dominated the modeling scene in the '80s with her blonde hair, blue eyes and long legs. The all-American beauty covered the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue consecutively from 1979 to 1981. Plus, she was the face of CoverGirl for 25 years.

Things are already smooth sailing for Brinkley's mini-me Sailor. The 17-year-old got her feet wet in a Claire's ad. Then, she landed her first magazine cover alongside her mother before signing a modeling contract with IMG.
Patti Hansen, Alexandra Richards & Theodora Richards

Hansen's discovery reads like a modern-day Cinderella story. Reportedly scouted at a hot dog stand, she signed with Wilhelmina and went on to grace the covers and pages of Seventeen, Glamour, Vogue and Esquire.

Hansen's two daughters with Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, Alexandra and Theodora, are represented by the same agency as their mom. And they've racked up editorials, ad campaigns and magazine covers just as swiftly.
Nastassja Kinski & Kenya Kinski-Jones
Getty Images
You may remember Kinski as the title character in the Roman Polanski film "Tess." However, the German actress/sex symbol started out as a model. A print taken by famed photographer Richard Avedon of a boa constrictor wrapped around her naked body went on sale at a Christie's auction in 2009.

With mom's stunning good looks and dad Quincy Jones' business savvy smarts, Kenya is poised to be a big deal in the modeling world. Her first shoot ever was an editorial for Spanish Vogue, and she's smized in campaigns for Calvin Klein Jeans and Stella McCartney fragrance.
Yasmin Le Bon & Amber Le Bon

Yasmin Le Bon and her signature pout in Guess ads from the '80s are forever etched into our memories. The Iranian-English model has over 400 magazine covers to her resume, including the first issues of American and British Elle. And she earned major props after modeling a 110-pound dress by Stephane Rolland during Paris Spring 2012 Couture Week.

Get used to seeing Amber's face more often, as the 26-year-old has already been spotted in campaigns for Forever 21, Pantene and Myla swimwear.
Bebe Buell & Liv Tyler

Like many of the mothers on our list, Buell was discovered as a teenager. She left her native Virginia Beach to move to New York City to pursue a career in fashion. Buell posed node for Playboy in 1974 and went on to model throughout Europe for various international publications.

Tyler started modeling at the tender age of 14. She landed the November 1992 cover of Seventeen and starred in Aerosmith's music video "Crazy" alongside Alicia Silverstone. While Tyler gave up modeling after just a year to focus on acting, she can still be seen today on the covers of fashion mags and in Givenchy ad campaigns.
Amanda de Cadenet & Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor
Getty Images
The British model rose to fame in the '90s thanks to her blonde locks, pillowy lips and curvy figure à la Marilyn Monroe. De Cadenet has since turned her star power into a illustrious career as a photographer and talk show host.

Atlanta is the perfect blend of her mother and father, Duran Duran bassist John Taylor. Signed to One Management, she's done editorials for Net-A-Porter, Cosmopolitan, W Magazine and Glamour Spain.
Melanie Griffith & Dakota Johnson
Getty Images
Modeling is engrained in Griffith's DNA. Her mother, Tippi Hedren, had a successful career as a model before starring in Alfred Hitchcock films "The Birds" and "Marnie." Griffith, however, dabbled in the field as a financial means before focusing on acting.

Johnson's introduction to modeling came after she built acting cred. Now signed to IMG Models, the brunette can be spotted on the covers of Elle, Glamour, Marie Claire and British Vogue.
