CHENNAI: Voter slips will be issued door-to-door in Chennai starting Thursday (May 5), said district election officer B Chandramohan on Wednesday.
Addressing a press meet here, he said preparations to check EVMs and ballots would begin on May 8. "A security plan will be prepared for the 406 vulnerable booths," he said. "We will start deploying paramilitary forces soon," he added.
The election office had told all press vehicles to cooperate with checking as a few parties had complained that cash was being carried in vehicles with a press sticker.
However, no such instance or violation had been found, he said.
Candidates and political parties have been issued a unique number for advertisements by the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee. Ads on print, television and online will have to display that number.
