Mumbai: After HTC has unveiled its new flagship last month, the company has now launched the HTC Desire 830 in Taiwan with amazing new improvements over its ageing predecessor, the Desire 820.
According to media reports, the HTC Desire 830 accompanies numerous upgrades on both hardware and software front.
The handset comes with a 5.5-inch FHD screen, which is a welcome addition. Under the hood, the device employs a 64-bit MediaTek Helio X10 chipset, clocked at 1.5 GHz, which could have been a bit better.
Complimenting the Helio X10 chipset is a powerful 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage space, which is expandable up to 128GB via a mircoSD slot. The handset runs on the latest Android 6.0 OS (Marshmallow), with the company’s native Sense UI on top.
Moving on to the camera, the primary 13MP shooter along with optical image stabilisation and an aperture of f.2.0 churns out good images, as per the company’s claims.
A 4MP Ultrapixel snapper on the front also shares the same aperture as the rear camera, and is touted to click amazing selfies.
While the facial upgrades are not as prominent, the phone makes up for it with BoomSound audio technology, owing to its dual speaker setup, and Dolby Audio enhancements. This will significantly boost audio experiences while listening to songs or watching videos.
In terms of connectivity, the handset offers all regular options such as 4G LTE, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. The Desire 830 is powered by a 2,800mAh battery, which is also decent.
The smartphone will be available in blue and red colour themes—the traditional white body along with red and blue lines running along the edges. The price of the device back in Taiwan is TWD 9,990, which is approximately Rs 20,500.
The company has not yet made any announcements regarding its launch in other regions but we are expecting it to arrive soon in India.
