Kimi Raikkonen admits his F1 future is not in his hands

Kimi Raikkonen is not sure whether he will be racing in Formula One next year, but says he still has a passion for the sport.

Raikkonen's Ferrari contract is due to expire at the end of the year, but with plenty of potential for movement in the driver market this summer his future is unclear. Raikkonen returned to Ferrari in 2014 but has so far failed to recapture the form he showed in his earlier career and on his return to F1 with Lotus in 2012 after a two-year sabbatical.

Raikkonen says he still has a love for the sport but admits he may not know about his future in F1 until the start of next year.

"I have a contract until the end of this year so who knows what will happen next year, but I wouldn't be here if I didn't enjoy what I do," he said. "Obviously I have a passion for racing but many things are not in our hands.

"We can only try to do our best and then see what the future will bring. We go race by race. I'm sure at some point this year, latest next year we will know."
