New Delhi, May 4 () Base metal prices fell by up to Rs 5 per kg at the non-ferrous market today tracking a weak trend overseas.

New Delhi, May 4 () Base metal prices fell by up to Rs 5 per kg at the non-ferrous market today tracking a weak trend overseas.
Traders said sentiment turned bearish after metals from Shanghai to London extended their decline on global growth worries and amid a Chinese clampdown on commodity futures trading.
Meanwhile, copper fell 0.7 per cent to USD 4,885 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4x4) fell by Rs 2 and Rs 5 to Rs 362 and Rs 835-840 per kg respectively. Zinc ingot, lead ingot and lead imported also traded lower by Rs 2 each to Rs 94-100, Rs 72 and Rs 78 per kg, respectively.
In line with the overall trend, aluminium ingots, sheet cutting, wire scrap and utensils scrap also enquired lower by Rs 2 each to Rs 153, Rs 149, Rs 149 and Rs 147 per kg, respectively.

Zinc ingot Rs 94-100, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 835-840, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 362, chadri deshi Rs 295.
