Culprit behind murder of Jisha to be booked soon: Chandy

Kochi, May 4 (UNI) Even as the widespread protests and agitations from all quarters of life, alleging over the delay in booking the culprits behind the brutal rape and murder of LLB student Jisha, Kerala Chief Minister today claimed that the investigation was going on its correct direction and expressed the hope that the accused would be booked soon. Talking to reporters after visiting Jisha's mother, who was admitted at the government hospital at Perumbavoor, he said the investigation was moving on fruitful manner and the culprit behind the heinous crime would be brought before the law at the earliest. Informing that the government would extend all helps to the family of Jisha, including a government job to the sister of Jisha, he said in the wake of code of conduct, the government would seek election commission's permission in this regard. On hearing that the Chief Minister would visit mother of Jisha, the left party feeder organisations, including DYFI and AYFI, had gathered in front of the hospital, tried to waylaid the Chief Minister. However, with the help of huge police force and youth congress volunteers, he managed to enter the hospital and visited Jisha's mother, which lead to a skirmish. Later, the Youth Congress activists, who accompanied the Chief Minister attacked the Media, who were trying to take the visuals of the Chief Minister. The DYFI and AIYF activities had waylaid Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala, when he arrived to visit Jisha's mother and give up his visit yesterday, following the resistance by the agitators. Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports said the police have taken into custody Jisha's neighbour for interrogation at a secret place in Perumbavoor, in the district. UNI CGV PR 0948
