The final electoral roll for the district released by the Election Department on Monday has shown an increase of 10,483 voters.

As per the final voters’ list for the May 16 Assembly polls, the five Assembly segments of Aranmula, Thiruvalla, Ranni, Konni, and Adoor house a total of 10,25,172 electorates. Of this, 5,43,163 are women and 4,82,009 men.

The total voters in each Assembly segment, with women voters in bracket, are: Thiruvalla: 2,07,825 (1,09,873); Ranni: 1,89,610 (98714); Aranmula: 2,26324 (1,20,621); Konni: 1,94,721 (1,03,336); Adoor: 2.06,692 (1,10,619.

A total of 37 candidates are left in the fray in the five Assembly segments in the district.

The Aranmula Assembly constituency that houses the largest number of voters in the district has got nine contestants.

The list of candidates left in the fray in the five constituencies in the district are:

Thiruvalla: Mathew T. Thomas [Janata Dal (Secular)], Joseph M. Puthusserry [Kerala Congress(M)], Akkeeramon Kalidasan Bhattathiripad (Bharat Dharma Jana Sena), Saji Kadambanad (BSP), Simi M. Jacob (SDPI), and M.V. Cherian (Independent).

Ranni: Raju Abraham [CPI(M)], Mariyamma Cherian (Congress), K. Padmakumar (BDJS), Fausina Thaqbir (SDPI), Prasad Uthimoodu (BSP), Geethama Madhavan (Independent), and Varghese Thomas (Independent).

Aranmula: K. Sivadasan Nair (Congress), Veena George [CPI(M)], M.T. Ramesh (BJP), Sreekanth M. Valicaud (Samajawadi Party), T. Amritha Kumar (BSP), K.G. Anilkumar [SUCI(C)], Habeeb Rahman (PDP), Chandran (Independent), and Shaji Mezhuvely (Independent).

Konni: Adoor Prakash (Congress), R. Sanalkumar [CPI(M)], D. Ashok Kumar (BJP), Joshy Joseph (Welfare Party), S.Vishnu (Shiv Sena), Riyash (SDPI), Biju Elamanoor (Independent), and V. Suresh (Independent).

Adoor (SC): Chittayam Gopakumar (CPI), K.K. Shaju (Congress), P. Sudheer (BJP), Plavinal Santhosh (BSP), Jyotish Perumpulickal (SDPI), T. Vishnuraj (PDP), and P. Ajitha (Independent).
