‘DMDK candidates have not withdrawn nominations’

May 04, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:41 am IST - PUDUCHERRY:

Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam’s Puducherry unit’s secretary-in charge Ashok Babu on Tuesday said none of the party candidates had withdrawn their nominations.

Disgruntled over DMDK leader Vijayakant’s ‘undemocratic’ move in selecting candidates to contest the elections, the party functionaries led by its unit secretary in Puducherry R.Selvaraj joined the Congress on Monday.

Among political circles, the speculation was rife that six DMDK candidates would be moving to the Congress.

Under these circumstances, Mr. Ashok Babu said none of the party candidates had withdrawn the nomination and added that they were very much in the race.
