Valuables worth Rs 10L burgled from doc’s home
Nagpur: Burglars struck a doctor’s house in MIDC area and made away with 460 grams of gold jewellery and 1.2kg silver ornaments worth Rs10 lakh. The incident took place at the house of Goodluck Society, Gadge Nagar resident Shivshankar Bhasme, 67. Bhasme was employed as a doctor with Railways.
According to the police, Bhasme stay with his wife and a daughter, also a doctor.
Three months ago, his son shifted abroad with his wife. On April 24, Bhasme with his wife and daughter left to Aurangabad to meet his relative and later planned a trip to Shirdi and other nearby places. Bhasme had asked domestic help Viniya Yadav to look after the house. Yadav would regularly water the trees in the morning and return in the evening to check if everything was all right. On Monday afternoon, she watered the trees. The burglary came to know light on Monday evening when Yadav again had gone to check the house and found that the lights were switched on. Yadav found the kitchen door was open. She immediately informed Bhasme who reached the city on Tuesday afternoon and file a complaint with MIDC police station. Bhasme claimed loss of gold and silver ornaments worth Rs10 lakh.
Ths second incident was reported by Sonali Mankar at Ajni police station. Mankar told police that she had been to her mother’s house on Monday afternoon when a thief broke open the main door of her Hanuman Nagar residence and made away with gold and silver ornaments wroth Rs1.58 lakh.
In the third case, burglars made away with cash and gold valuables worth Rs70,000 from Shehbad Haider’s SBI colony, Anant Nagar residence. As per Haider’s complaint at Gittikhadan police station, he had been to Chandrapur for past four days when the thieves struck his house. Haider returned home on Sunday evening when he discovered the burglary.
