Slovenia, Qatar to expand cooperation on tourism, healthcare, education

Visiting Qatari Minister of Economy and Trade Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani and his Slovenian counterpart Zdravko Pocivalsek agreed here on Tuesday to promote bilateral cooperation in tourism, healthcare and education.

Al Thani and Pocivalsek held a meeting before attending the first session of the Slovenian-Qatari commission for economy and technology at Brdo pri Kranju near Ljubljana.

The two sides agreed that the trade between the two countries last year has left ample room for expanding cooperation and Qatari investment in Slovenia, especially in tourism, healthcare and education fields, according to the Slovenian side.

Al Thani is accompanied in Slovenia by a business delegation that is interested above all in cooperation in information and communication technology, energy sector, the construction of office buildings or sports infrastructure, and tourism services.

Entrepreneurs of the two countries who are active in the the commission for economic and technology will also hold talks at Brdo pri Kranju on Wednesday. Endit
