Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed his wish to travel with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Lumbini in Nepal for the Buddha Purnima function on May 21.
Besides Modi and Nitish, Nepal has invited the Chinese president and UN secretary general to the event. If Nitish travels with the PM, it would be the first time that the Bihar CM would be sharing the dais with Modi outside the country.
“It is true that Bihar Chief Minister has made a request to the Ministry of External Affairs, expressing his desire to travel with the Prime Minister. Protocol also demands it. We are almost sure that the Prime Minister would be thinking along the same line. Travelling separately would not be proper,” said JD(U) spokesperson K C Tyagi, who is also likely to travel to Lumbini.
