International Yoga Day event in Chandigarh, says Anil Vij

CHANDIGARH: Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Anil Vij, has said the Governments of Haryana and Punjab as well as Chandigarh Administration would jointly organise ‘International Yoga Day’ in Chandigarh on June 21.

Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Anil Vij, has said the Governments of Haryana and Punjab as well as Chandigarh Administration would jointly organise ‘International Yoga Day’ in Chandigarh on June 21. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be present on the occasion.

The Sports Minister, who was presiding over a high-level meeting to review arrangements being made for the success of ‘International Yoga Day’ programmes here today, said the Centre had decided to organise ‘International Yoga Day’ in Chandigarh this time.

He said more than 10,000 persons from the state would participate in the event, including school and college students, teachers, Home Guards and police personnel. Apart from this, yoga programmes would be organised at village, tehsil, sub-division and district levels in the state.

Vij said the Sports and AYUSH Departments would also hold yoga training camps with the assistance of Yog Peeth Haridwar to educate people about yoga.
