Pakistan will maintain minimum nuclear deterrence: Aziz

Islamabad, May 3 (UNI) Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz today said Pakistan would maintain minimum nuclear deterrence in the interest of strategic stability in South Asia.
Holding that a strategic imbalance had been created in the region, Mr Aziz gave the example of Indo-US nuclear deal and the subsequent 'discriminatory waiver' granted to India by the NSG.
''One wonders what benefit the non-proliferation regime had secured from the deal,'' Mr Aziz asked, speaking at a seminar on 'Pakistan's Non-proliferation Efforts and Strategic Export Controls'.
