Agitated students thrash S B College principal at Ara

Ara: Fate of about 1000 students of BA Part I of different colleges under Veer Kunwar Singh University (VKSU) hangs in balance as the university administration is yet to issue their registration numbers and the filling up of examination forms has already started. On Tuesday, students of SB College, Ara, became agitated when they failed to get their registration numbers and thrashed the college principal.
SB College principal Ram Janam Sharma, however, said due to some fault on part of the college employees, altogether 846 students were admitted to BA part I against the allotted 723 seats and hence the VKSU did not send their registration numbers. The hapless students in all probability will not be allowed to fill up the examination form this year. "I have written to the vice-chancellor and the state government to find a solution so that their future can be secured," said the principal.
VKSU VC Leela Chand Sah said not only SB College but employees and principals of eight other constituent colleges and two affiliated colleges illegally took admission of students more than their allotted quota and hence the university did not issue any registration number to such students. "We will take action against erring employees and principals," said the VC. TNN
