Sacyr : will do the road cleaning and waste collection in Albacete for 164 million euros

Valoriza will renew the container fleet and replace 1,500 wastepaper baskets

Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales, a subsidiary of Sacyr, has been adjudicated the road cleaning and waste collection service of the city of Albacete for a total €164 million and for a period of 15 years, which may be extended for a further five.

The improvements to be made to the service especially include the complete renovation of the container fleet and the replacement of 1,500 wastepaper baskets. The company will also use alternative fuels (GNC and electric), which are less polluting and noisy, and will have soundproofed units with water saving systems.

Valoriza will also provide Albacete City Hall with the most advanced technologies adapted to urban service management, such as GPRS in real-time for mobile equipment and installation of TAGs and filling sensors in street furniture to facilitate the management and control of the treatments given in each element. All of this is intended to enable optimized management of the urban services and the implementation of the system to ensure their continuous improvement.

Portfolio of 3,000 million euros

With this new adjudication, Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales gains strength in the waste collection and road cleaning services it has in more than 700 municipal areas and which suppose a portfolio amounting to €3,000 million, with contracts in Madrid, Coslada (road cleaning and park maintenance), Fuenlabrada, Las Rozas, Alcalá de Henares, San Fernando de Henares, Guadarrama, A.P. de la Bahía de Algeciras, Toledo, Cádiz, Soria, Sant Cugat del Vallés (Barcelona), Lérida, Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife), Arona (Tenerife), Vilanova i la Geltrú (Barcelona), Plasencia (Cáceres), Miranda de Ebro (Burgos), Haro (La Rioja) and Baza (Granada), amongst other places.
