Govt blames French Dassault for MMRCA scrapping

New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) Revealing for the first time the reason behind the scrapping of the process of procurement of 126 fighter aircraft, the Government has informed a parliamentary panel that the contract could not be concluded because French firm Dassault Aviation was not complying with the terms of the agreement.
In its report tabled in the Rajya Sabha today, Standing Committee on Defence said, "the contract negotiations in the procurement case could not be concluded because M/s Dassault Aviation did not confirm agreement with certain terms of the Request for Proposal (RFP) and its bid."
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar had earlier said the MMRCA deal was scrapped as the process had stuck in whirlpool.
