UGC gives a grant of Rs. 43 lakhs for GNDU's UBS
AMRITSAR: Dr Amarjit Singh Sidhu, Professor, University Business School (UBS) and Coordinator of Special Assistance Programme (SAP) of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) informed about the grant of Rs 43 lakhs by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The UGC has selected University Business School under SAP at the level of DRS-I for a period of 5 years , he said while talking to media persons here on Tuesday.

The department would also get an additional grant of Rs. 9.25 lakhs for five years to hire a project fellow for the collection of data and information for the thrust area. It is pertinent to mention that the UBS has been separated from the Department of Commerce and Business Management just two years back.
He said the grant had been provided to the UBS in view of the contribution made by it in research and teaching. "The importance of this project is due to the fact that this grant will provide opportunity to all the faculty members to work as a team for five years" he said adding that this was the first stage which would definitely help the UBS to get additional grant for level second and level third. eom
