And so Leicester City have done it. The implausible Foxes title dream, a dream that never seemed any less implausible even as it moved ever closer to becoming a reality, has come true.
Claudio Ranieri's men saw their staggering triumph confirmed without kicking a ball as Chelsea came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Tottenham on Monday. It really has happened. It's really amazing, and it's really wonderful.
Meanwhile, back in the never-ceasing world of the transfer market, what might the Manchester clubs -- tipped to be contenders but left trailing in Leicester's wake -- be doing in the summer as they prepare to challenge the new champions?
To United first, where the Sun reports that Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann is a £65 million target, regardless of whether manager Louis van Gaal ends up staying or going.
France international Griezmann, who has scored 31 times this season and sent Barcelona tumbling out of the Champions League with a pair of goals at the Vicente Calderon, is also interesting Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, while Chelsea could be tempted to make a move.
The Sun reports that United "want a world-class striker and have put the Frenchman alongside Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on their wish list."
And here's the managerial twist: The Sun's report adds that "Jose Mourinho is a big fan of Griezmann ... and Mourinho is believed to be heading for Old Trafford this summer in preference to PSG."
Man City to seal Laporte deal?
And what are City up to? Signing Aymeric Laporte for a start, according to the Mirror, which reports that they are close to an agreement to bring in the France under-21 captain from Athletic Bilbao.
Last month it emerged that Laporte, and Everton's John Stones, were the defenders in incoming manager Pep Guardiola's sights as he looks to refresh the City squad on his arrival from Bayern Munich.
The Mirror says Guardiola wants "a top-class centre-back who is also comfortable in possession" as a priority. And also, of course, one who could have a chance of coping against Jamie Vardy and Co.
The 21-year-old Laporte, reported to have a €50 million release clause in his contract, is on the verge of a move following talks between officials from the two clubs, according to the Guardian.
It reports City have agreed to pay that clause to sign the player, despite the fact that he is ruled out until August after suffering a broken leg and a dislocated ankle.
Giroud thrown to Wolves?
Unhappy days for Olivier Giroud at Arsenal at the moment, with the goals having pretty much dried up in 2016 as his team's expected challenge for the Premier League title never really materialised.
Now reports in France suggest he could be off to Bundesliga club Wolfsburg, the former home of one-time Gunner Nicklas Bendtner, in the summer.
According to Footmercato, France international Giroud, currently "living through the worst drought of his career" after 15 Premier League games without a goal, is interesting a club it says "have big ambitions and want to recruit a new striker."
The French outlet believes Giroud "would favour" the move, but adds that he does not intend to rush into a decision as he prepares for Euro 2016.
Everton, Stoke 'too small' for Yarmolenko
Roberto Martinez could do with a bit of cheer these days -- things at Everton remain uncertain, despite the fillip of a win over Bournemouth at the weekend -- but he won't find it in the transfer market, the Mirror reports.
That's because the Merseysiders have been told "they are not big enough" for Dynamo Kiev winger Andriy Yarmolenko -- and so have Stoke City, also reported to be hopeful of signing the Ukraine international.
Everton were strongly linked with Yarmolenko last summer, only for a mooted move to fizzle out, but the Mirror says that although Kiev now believe they are unlikely to keep him, he will only go "to a top club."
It quotes Kiev president Igor Surkis as saying, "My position is that we should not let Yarmolenko go to such clubs like Everton and Stoke City." One wonders what he would say now if Leicester were interested.

- Defender Chris Herd has joined A-League outfit Perth Glory, the club have announced.
Australian international Herd, a one-time Aston Villa player, said he was "thrilled to be coming home" and added: "Pulling on the purple for Perth Glory has been something I've contemplated for a while, and I'm excited to be part of a club that is definitely on the way up."
- Last year, Charlton Athletic left-back Morgan Fox was linked with Manchester United; this year, it's a potential move to Birmingham City.
Fox, who came through the ranks at The Valley but is likely to leave following the club's miserable relegation to League One, is a potential recruit for the Championship Blues, according to the Birmingham Mail.
