BTS breaks into iTunes Charts abroad

K-pop boy band BTS’ special album “Young Forever” swept domestic music charts and broke into the iTunes top 30 albums in 17 countries, the group’s agency Big Hit Entertainment announced Tuesday.

The album topped the iTunes top albums charts in Singapore and Taiwan, ranked second place in Indonesia, third place in Finland, fourth place in Thailand and Hong Kong, and 18th place in the U.S.

“Fire,” the lead song of the band’s special album released Monday, immediately topped seven domestic music charts including MelOn, Genie, Mnet, and Naver Music.

The song also made it to the iTunes top 30 songs charts in 12 countries, said the agency. It topped in Malaysia and Singapore, ranked second place in Finland and Australia, and third place in Taiwan, Thailand and Argentina.

The lead song, an electro trap tune, carries a message encouraging the youth to go pursue their dreams.

Meanwhile, the group will hold a concert “2016 BTS Live ” at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena, Seoul, from May 7-8.
