Bhavesh V Patel, Indra Nooyi and Satya Nadella among the 100 highest-paid CEOs


BENGALURU: Three Indian origin executives have been named among the 100 highest-paid CEOs globally according to a report by Equilar. PepsiCo’s CEO, Indra Nooyi and LyondellBasell's Bhavesh Patel are ranked among the top ten followed by Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella ranking 26th in the list.      

Bhavesh V Patel, CEO of Chemicals Company LyondellBasell Industries, tops the list ranking and stands sixth on the 100 highest-paid CEOs with a total compensation of $24.5Mn. He also serves as the Chairman of the Management Board at LyondellBasell Industries.

The PepsiCo’s top executive, Indra Nooyi, is ranked eighth on the list with a total pay of $22.2Mn. Indra also serves as the Chairman of the multinational company.

The CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella is paid a total compensation of $18.3Mn. Mr. Nadella additionally serves as the Director of Microsoft Corporation.

Notably, Mark V Hurd and Safra A Catz of Oracle Corp top the list of 100 highest-paid CEOs with both the top executives receiving a total compensation of $53.2Mn. Hurd and Safra serve as the Chief Executive Officer with Safra additionally serving as the Director, Oracle Corporation. She is also the highest paid female in the overall list.

Other executives on the top ten with their respective total compensations include, Robert A Iger of Walt Disney ($43.5Mn), David M Cote of Honeywell International ($33.1Mn), Jeffrey R Immelt of General Electric ($26.4Mn), Randall L Stephenson of AT&T ($22.4Mn), Twenty-First Century Fox’s Rupert Murdoch ($22.2Mn), and James P Gorman of Morgan Stanley ($22Mn).

This list of 100 highest-paid CEOs was prepared from companies that file annual proxy statements before April 1 and aims to provide an early look at CEO pay trends for 2015. The report further notes that compared to 2014, the median pay for Equilar 100 CEOs was $14.5Mn in fiscal year 2015 which is three percent higher. 

Subsequently, Apple Corporation is the largest company on the list with regards to revenue summing up to $233.7Bn in 2015, followed by Berkshire Hathaway with $210.8Bn
