The big West Indian goes but not before doing serious damage to the Bangalore attack. A strike too late for the hosts perhaps. KKR 165/5 in 17.3 overs

23.24 IST: Big, Big over for KKR! That's what they were looking for! 4,4,4,6,2,4 - Pathan on fire! Watson had a nightmare. KKR 163/4 in 17 overs

23.18 IST: 16 overs are down and KKR are 139/4, need 47 runs in 24 balls. Russell and Pathan have kept the visitors' hopes alive.

23.02 IST: Good comeback from Aaron after that first-ball six from Pathan. KKR 93/4 in 13 overs

23.00 IST: SIX! Sheer power from Pathan! Short of a length on off, Pathan goes back to that one and pulls it away over the cow corner region for a big maximum. He packs a real solid punch when he connects. In fact both these batsmen do and Kolkata need a big stand from this duo. KKR 90/4 in 12.1 overs

22.48 IST: OUT! Shane Watson ends Manish Pandey's stay at 8! Shortish around off, Pandey makes room to pull but mistimes it towards wide long on where Baby takes an easy catch. They check for the no ball but Watson seems to be marginally fine. So, another huge blow for Kolkata as Pandey departs. Once again Watson comes in to take a big wicket. KKR 69/4 in 10.1 overs

22.40 IST: OUT! ARAVIND STRIKES! Slower ball just around off, Gambhir misread it completely as he looks to heave across the line. Misses it to be rapped on the front pad. Appeal for lbw and it is given. Looked like the impact was outside the line. Ends a struggling knock by Gambhir. KKR 66/3 in 9 overs

22.16 IST: OUT! Chahal castles Lynn for 15! What a ball! Floats it up on middle and leg, sharp leg break and Lynn has no clue to that one. The ball pitches and fizzes away to go past him to disturb the stumps. Another crucial wicket for Bangalore this as the big Australian departs. That is a delivery that would have made any leg spinner proud. KKR 34/2 in 4.4 overs

21.30 IST: OUT! Russell gets rid of Sachin Baby for 16! Soft dismissal! Low full toss on leg stump, Baby walks across the stumps to play the scoop but goes off the cue end. The ball pops up back at Russell who takes the easiest of return catches. Fires the ball at the striker's stumps in anger and seems to have broken the bails in the process. RCB 167/5 in 19 overs

21.10 IST: SIX! JUST OVER THE ROPES! Narine drifts it in from around off, Watson reaches out to that one and slog sweeps it over deep mid-wicket for a maximum. 21:00 IST: OUT! Chawla strikes again! AB de Villiers departs for 4! Fires in the slider just around off, skids through off the deck as AB looks to play across the line. 20.07 IST: OUT! Morne Morkel strikes as Chris Gayle departs for 7! IN THE AIR....AND GONE! Short ball around off, effort ball from Morkel and Gayle cannot resist the pull stroke. The bounce gets big on him and the top edge goes high up in the air on the leg side. Uthappa calls for the skier and takes it with ease. That's a massive wicket for Kolkata up front. Preview:

Toiling Royal Challengers Bangalore will be eagerly aiming for a win when they face Kolkata Knight Riders in a Indian Premier League (IPL) here on Monday. (Full IPL Coverage)

RCB have only won two of their four matches to be at the seventh spot in the eight-team tournament's points table.

They have an imbalanced squad, heavily reliant on their batting. They will once again bank on skipper Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, K.L. Rahul and Shane Watson to put up a huge total and hope their weaker bowling line-up will be able to defend it.

West Indian big-hitter Chris Gayle has rejoined the squad after a paternity leave to add more muscle to the already formidable batting line-up.

RCB suffered a 15-run loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday and need to overhaul their performance soon to harbour any hopes of qualification for the last-four stage.

They also need to sort out their bowling woes quickly as the inexperience in this department has been exposed badly by their opponents.

KKR have fared far better so far, winning four of their seven matches to be third on the points table. They would move to the second spot with a win on Monday.

But KKR also are coming into the contest on the back of a 27-run defeat by Delhi Daredevils in an away match, also on Saturday.

Nothwithstanding the defeat, KKR approach the match with a better frame of mind as they have been one of the most balanced team of the tournament.

KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir is leading from the front and is one of the top run-getters in the tournament so far, well supported by opening partner Robin Uthappa.

The bowling line-up also has a settled look with West Indian off-spinner Sunil Narine spearheading the attack.
