A 28-year-old businessman, who had met with an accident near PSG Sarvajana School at Peelamedu, died at a private hospital on Monday morning.

Coimbatore: A 28-year-old businessman, who had met with an accident near PSG Sarvajana School at Peelamedu, died at a private hospital on Monday morning. The deceased was identified as S Gautham alias Sarkunam, 28, a businessman from Tirupur. The accident, which occurred on Sunday, had claimed the life of his friend and a private security guard.
Traffic Investigation Wing (TIW-east) police said that Gautham's father Sachithanantham owned a luxury hotel and an engineering college in Tirupur.
Gautham was married a year ago and had a cardboard business at Sulur
Gautham and R Deepakkanth, 28, were returning to the city in Gautham's car on Sunday morning. Gautham's car rammed a moped which was being ridden by T Kenley, a private security guard and then rammed a compound wall of PSG Sarvajana School and rolled over thrice on Avinashi Road at Peelamedu.
Kenley died on the spot, while Deepakkanth died on his way to a private hospital. Gautham was admitted to a private hospital, but died without responding to the treatment on early Monday morning. Police said Gautham had bought his BMW a few months ago and drove the car in a rash manner. The front airbags of the luxury car were deployed, but even then the two passengers died due to the impact.
Postmortem was conducted Gautham's body was handed over to his relatives.
