By the end of 2015, Surinam broke out epidemic. On account of the financial difficulty in Surinam, the serious shortage of the capital of medical system and the upcoming rainy season, Surinam faced the danger of the wide spread of the zika virus which might be out of control. In order to express the Chinese government and its people's affection to the government and the people of Surinam and to help them combat zika virus, the Chinese government started the working mechanism of the emergency humanitarian assistance in time, deciding to provide US$1 million in cash as emergency humanitarian assistance to the government of Surinam.

The Chinese government will continue to provide help within its power to support the government of Surinam to deal with zika virus according to the requirements and the changing situation of the epidemic in Surinam.
