Doc turns TB Hospital into private clinic

JHANG-DHQ Hospital’s TB Department Head Dr Jahangir Khokhar has allegedly turned Government TB Hospital into his private clinic, and is busy looting the patients who come from far off areas for treatment.

The Punjab government is providing free tuberculosis diagnosing and medicines to the patient but Dr Jahangir is looting the patients of TB in different ways. Although a libratory has been especially established in TB Department of DHQ Hospital for septum test but he refers the patients to a private libratory namely Reman Libratory situated in Satellite Town, some three kilometres away from DHQ Hospital Jhang, which is working by an NGO. In return, the libratory pays to Dr Jahangir Rs400 per patient. Thus, he takes advantage of rush of patients in Government TB Clinic and is earning money illegally.

On the other side, his brother is running a medical store namely Haq Bahoo Medical Store in front of Government TB Clinic. Dr Jahangir writes a long list of unnecessary medicines and forces patients to buy these medicines from his brother’s medical store. Then he orders rechecking of medicines and the medicines purchased from other medical stores are declared fake. Thus, he compels such patients to return these medicines and orders them to buy the medicines from his brother’s medical store at high rates.
