SRINAGAR, May 2: Youth Services and Sports Department today organized Girls cross country run from Grand Palace to Nishat Garden here. The race was flagged off by Director School education, Dr Shah Faesal.
An official said nearly 300 girls from both government and private of all the districts of Kashmir division participated in the race. “The closing ceremony was held at Nishat Garden. Later the medals were distributed among students by Shah Faisal .The position holders were awarded with certificates and medals,” he said.
The official said in U- 17 Girls category Gold, Silver and Bronze medals were won by Rifat Ara from Bandipora, Sumaira from Anantnag and Asra of Scotland international School Srinagar.
He said in U-19 category Gold, Silver and Bronze medals were won by Ruksana from Bandgam, Sumaira from Srinagar, Irtiza Farooq from Budgam while in the U-14 category Gold, Silver and Bronze medals were won by Benazir Fatima from Srinagar,Ruqui Ul Ameen from Kulgam and Umari from Srinagar respectively.
