Rajkot: Oghad Mevada (35), a resident of Kagdadi village near Kuvadava in Rajkot, was found murdered on Monday morning. His decomposed body was found in a farm owned by Dineshbhai on Morbi Road. Oghad is survived by wife Shobhna, two sons and a daughter.
According to B division police of Rajkot city, Mevada was missing since April 28 after he left home.
Police also recovered blood stains on terrace of a house in the farm. They suspect that Oghad may have been murdered by assailants in the house and then his dead body was disposed of.
Oghad owned a tea stall in Kagdadi village. His relative Dayabhai Fangaliya, a resident of Vacchakpar village, had lodged a complaint of murder against unidentified persons.
"On April 28, Oghad came to Rajkot and called up in nephew Bhupat Gelotar and asked him for his car. He then went in the car to Lalpari to meet Suresh Patel in his farm. However, since April 28 night, his mobile was out of reach and he could not be traced. But on April 29, his car was found abandoned near Velnathpara," said a police official.
"We are recording statements of those people whom Oghad had met on April 28. Details of his mobile phone call records have also been called for," said M B Solanki, police inspector, B division police station. Police suspect Oghad may have been murdered over some financial dispute.
