May 03, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - ADILABAD:

The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Monday trapped Dahegaon Tahsildar S. Vishwambar while accepting a bribe of Rs. 15,000 from a complainant. The trapping came at Kagaznagar town close to the rented house of the official at Balajinagar.

According to Adilabad ACB DSP Papa Lal, Vishwambar had demanded the money to hand over the title papers of a piece of land allocated to Boire Poshakka of Dahegaon in 2013. Vexed with the delay in handing over the papers, Poshakka's son Somaiah agreed to pay Rs. 15,000 as bribe but he also lodged a complaint with the ACB.

The ACB team arrested the official after recovering the money from his pocket.

They also searched his office at Dahegaon mandal headquarters.
