Jamaican police say they are trying to determine the motive in the weekend slayings of two American missionaries in the north coast area where they lived and worked.

Assistant Police Commissioner Ealan Powell said Monday that a team of officers is in St. Mary parish "working assiduously" to make arrests.

Two days after the first slain missionary was found there are no suspects.

Randy Hentzel was from Donnellson, Iowa. Harold Nichols hailed from Randolph, New York.

Both men worked for a Pennsylvania-based religious organization called Teams for Medical Missions. The men and their families did evangelism and Bible ministry and built homes.

They were attacked Saturday on their way to check on the foundation of a home they were building.
