Four dead, three injured as truck collides with auto near Vataman

AHMEDABAD: Four persons including a woman and two children died on the spot after a truck hit an auto which had already fallen on road near Vejalka village on Bagodara-Vataman road on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased have been identified as Shital Vaghela, 27, Purvrajsinh, 14, and Shivrajsinh Vaghela, 7, along with the auto driver Dashrath Beldar. While Vaghelas hailed from Uteliya and were part of the same familiy, Beldar was resident of Tarapur.

The two persons injured include Ajaysinh Vaghela, 24 and Mitrajsinh Vaghela, 14. One person is yet to be identified. All three were shifted to a private hospital in Dholka for treatment.
Koth police station, which registered the complaint for the fatal accident, said that the accident took place around 4.30 pm right near the approach to the village.
"The auto driver had apparently tried to overtake a vehicle unsuccessfully. As the auto took a sharp turn to avert collision, it got flung from the spot and landed on the opposite side of the road when the truck was approaching. The truck driver could not control the speed immediately as the auto got dragged for a few feet which resulted into the deaths," said a Koth police official.
