Withdraw termination order: DAV principal to power board

Patna: DAV Public School-BSEB Colony principal V S Ojha has sought the withdrawal of termination letter sent by the Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Limited (BSPHCL) officials to the school management.
In a closed-door meeting on Monday, Ojha submitted a memorandum to the power company stating that the CBSE had restored the school's affiliation.
"Their basic grievance was that we had put the future of kids in the dark because of de-affiliation.
That problem has been redressed now. Hence, I requested them to reconsider their termination order," Ojha told TOI after the meeting.
The BSPHCL has served an eviction notice to the school management to vacate the premises by June 1. It has provided land and building to DAV to run the school, which enrols the wards of power firm employees.
For its part, the power company has asked the school principal to make arrangements for the takeover. "We have given a list to the principal about the arrangements for the takeover. Yes, the CBSE has restored the school's affiliation. But we have no request from the DAV College Managing Committee (CMC) to withhold the takeover," BSPHCL GM (HR) Rajiv Ranjan told TOI.

Ranjan said any further decision will be taken by the power company board once the school principal submits the list of necessary arrangements for the takeover. "What steps will be taken and what will happen to the teachers and staff members will be decided by our board," he said and added, "Since June 1 is the day to vacate the premises, the list of teachers and other modalities should be submitted by them beforehand."
But DAV principal V S Ojha is hopeful. "Let bygones be bygones. I have assured the power company of proper functioning of the school in future and even invited them to authorize a person or a board to monitor the school's operations. We are here for service and will do so," he said. Meanwhile, Ojha said he will ready a list of assets and liabilities as asked by the power company.
Sources said a CMC representative may soon meet the power company officials and plead their case before them. All the teachers and staff of the school are appointees of the DAV CMC on the recommendation of the local managing committee of the school comprising power company officials.
