Youngsters can learn footwork from Dravid: Billings

Delhi Daredevils wicketkeeper-batsman honoured to have Indian legend around.

Rajkot: England wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Billings, who is playing his first Indian Premier League tournament said, "Delhi Daredevils wants to keep winning momentum going.” They will meet Gujarat Lions here on Tuesday.

Daredevils has eight points in six matches and placed third in the point table while Gujarat Lions is top of the table with 12 points in eight matches.

Daredevils won their last match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in which Billings made 54 contributing to the team total (186 for 8). They restricted KKR to 159 in 18.3 overs thereby winning the match by 27 runs.

Both team will play second time in the tournament and in previous encounter Daredevils lost the match by a narrow one-run margin.

Gujarat Lions posted 172 for 6 and reduced Daredevlis for 57 for four in 11 overs. However Chris Moris hammered eight sixes and four fours in his 32 balls unbeaten 82.

"Morris had put Daredevils almost on victory position. We worked hard and now we are ready for tomorrow's game," he said.

When asked about playing in Indian condition with mentor like Rahul Dravid, Billings said: "It's a great learning opportunity to spend time with Rahul, who always asks batsmen to use their foot properly."

"Your footwork has to be so good while playing against spinners in Indian condition and overseas young players can learn from Rahul."

"It's pleasant to be a part of IPL and a great experience playing at different venues on different pitches against quality players".

"You can not play with the same eleven every time. In different games, we used different combinations, sometimes I have to sit out. We have a strong squad and have healthy competition among us," Billings added.
